In a quiet Southern town, a
young woman named Lena — the protagonist — feels trapped by the silence and emotional control of her father, Ray, the antagonist. He doesn’t speak much, but his cold presence keeps her from living freely. Lena longs to break free from the pain of the past.
The film uses powerful color shots, mainly burnt orange and cool teal, to reflect Lena’s emotions — orange for her fire and passion, teal for the cold, distant world around her. She is often shown behind doors or fences, visually showing her feeling stuck.
In the final scene, Lena lights a small fire — calm and steady — as a symbol of her strength and new beginning. Light My Fire is a quiet but powerful story about finding freedom and courage in silence.
